Interior Peeling

Postby Brian8185 [OP] » Apr 27 2011, 3:30pm

I am having an issue where my interior is peeling, as i read alot of people are. I know that the plastic interior pieces for the interior are molded in black undernieth... i was wondering is there may be a safe way of useing some paint stipper or some kind of chemical to safely remove all the coating and just keep all black interior? i wouldnt mind having all black plus on the bright side i wouldnt have to worry about it peeling again. any suggestions anyone???

Is it still under warranty? Have you checked the dealer on an oem replacement? What about a junkyard? Or have it painted? Or what about those dash carpet kits?

well unless im joe dirt im not putting carpet on my dash... i dont want to really "replace" the dash, i want to just fix the shitty design chevy did here. like i would like to have black interior instead of dark grey... so i was thinking starting with the whole dash and taking it all out, spraying it with a safe chemical that would maybe take off the outer coating of the dash and not ruin the actual plastic. i just mainly want to know if there is such a chemical that is safe enough that it wont ruin or melt the actual plastic. like maybe a strong paint thinner?

Hey! I resemble that! Anybody want to buy a dash mat? Grey in color and it fits the Chevrolet Caprice and the Buick Roadmaster. 1991 to 1996.
