There will be lots of room for you and your lady. Friends will fit back there just fine too! If your not hauling people on a regular basis then it will do just fine.

Sounds like it comes down to whether you prefer suicide doors or regular doors. Regular doors would be more convenient for your passengers, suicide doors could be more convenient for you, depending on how you will be using your truck.

First my last three vehicles were Suburbs, my family is a little smaller now that some of the grandchildren have moved away. The crew cab was perfect for my family allowing 5 fairly large people to ride in comfort with a dual air and heat zones. Which can be a problem in the heat of the summer in Florida in a ext cab. The 5' 8" bed is too short to add a 4X8 sheet of plywood, so is the regular bed on the ext cab. But it is nice to drop by a nursery and pick up a load of dirt, fertilizer, or plants and not worry about the carpet in a suburb. I have a 4X8 utility trailer which is great for hauling the riding tractor in for service, or other large loads when planned for. But my truck is my boat hauler, also to load the crew up for a day on the lake, or beach. Includes room for the big Ice chest, butane grille, foldup chairs, fishing poles, and tent with breezeway. Love the crew.

I agree with everyone else who stated it depends on your usage. I have 3 kids in car seats, and they routinely ride back there, so I had to go with the crew cab. I rarely use the bed so that was not an issue. If you will not have passengers regularly ride in the back, ext. cab should be fine.

i love the extended cab, plenty of room for horseplay with the girlfriend and motortrend said back in 1999 that it was the only extended cab that a guy had no right complaining about siting there on a long drive. get one with the two suicide doors and not just one, 2000 and newer
