well i wanna get yalls opinions, im getting a truck soon. i see that extended cabs are cheaper. i want a crew cab but its hard to find a decent one with 4x4 less than 20,000. so is there enough room in the extended cab? i dont want it to be too cramped if i have friends back there (or me and a lady friend). this truck will be used

I like the extended cab cause if you plan on using the bed you actually have some room to haul things. The back seat is comfortable enough for normal sized people and what your gettin at yea

I have an extended cab and really like it the back is used mostly for me to toss stuff in since no one rides back there I had no need for a crew cab I would rather have more bed space

I've got an extended cab, too. The front seats move forward far enough so that long trips with people in the back aren't too bad. I like it better than a crew cab- enough room for people or gear, but the truck still has lots of bed space. It can get a little cramped, but I think the benefits outweigh the negative aspects.

Same with me. its usually a coat rack for me although I try to keep the clutter down in my truck. Bed space is key. I can't stand not being able to throw my 4wheeler in the bed and not close my tailgate.. or else i'd have a truck box. Truck box+Crew Cab Bed=Useless

I have an extended cab and I love it. I think I would rather have a crew cab myself just for the extra room but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on my truck. There is enough room back there for normal-sized people. I mainly use my back seat to throw stuff in though.

I prefer extended cab over crew cabs. in the back extended cabs can fit the average female or lady in the back comfortably but for a guy like me who is 6'4 the front seat has to be slid forward some for me to fit comfortably. when that is done in the person who is roughly my height has enough room to be comfortable

I have had my extended cab fully loaded minus someone in the front middle seat for a good 45 minute drive with no problems. I am 6'2 and was still able to move my seat forward enough without inhibiting my driving for my 6ft brother to fit behind me comfortably.

I figured I better chime in, since I have a crew cab. silveradobro123, you may be surprised to hear me say it, but you really do not need a crew cab. The crew might have just a bit more room, but it's not a big deal. I have ridden in the back of an extended cab for 4 hours (going on a fishing trip), and been perfectly comfortable.
The only thing to think about, beyond space, is that you will have to open and close the doors from the outside each time you use the back. The advantage to the crew is that each door opens independently.

If you find a good price on the extended cab, I say jump on it!

+1 for extended cab. biggest hassle is having to open the front door to open the rear, but it's minor. if your not hauling 4 people around every day, don't sweat it. there is plenty of room.
