Tan Leather or Black Leather

Tan Leather or Black Leather

Postby austinklee [OP] » Nov 04 2012, 9:25pm

I'm getting a 2013 2500HD Denali this week and am trying to decide between tan and black leather. I live in Atlanta and while I like them both I am afraid that the Black leather interior will be too hot. But, I've never had a truck with cooled seats and would love to hear from other folks if it is that big of a deal?

Thanks! Great forum!

I think both will be about equal, temperature-wise, and since you'll have the A\C going full blast, I doubt you'll notice it :). Any pics of this beauty? Please tell me you're getting the Duramax, too?

Thanks! That is what I assumed...but wanted to check with others. I'm going with the Gas engine. I know, I know, just can't justify the expense and I don't have a very long drive each day and would hate to ruin a good engine because of not getting it warmed up!

Thanks everybody. The dealer has the perfect truck on the lot with Black seats. I'm going to see if he can get one in tan...if not then I get some tint on the windows.

Tan Leather or Black Leather

Postby 08BigBlackZ71 » Nov 04 2012, 10:42pm

I like black myself. My tan leather seats look worn a lot faster. They don't hide dirt, or wear marks from getting in and out like black does. If your seats are cooled you shouldn't be worried about black.

Living in east Texas, hot humid in the summertime, I get off work at 445 pm an find I have cheap lighters explode because of the heat in my truck, (BLACK Leather), I didn't have this issue with my 05 (TAN leather) so yes, there's a huge difference in temperature.

Is the carpeting the same color as the seats? I have charcoal leather in my Silverado and with tinted windows it isn't too bad in the summer. However the charcoal carpeting shows every dog hair imaginable. I have tan leather in our family car and the tan interior does a much better job hiding crumbs, dog hair, lost French fries, etc.

I like Black because it does not show dirt or any stupid things I may do (like mark it with an ink pen, or something.

Not sure on the temp. More often than not, I have my heated seat on, up here in MN!
