You Know its Funny You Mention It! Ive Been Wondering What the Whistling was Since I Bought the Truck! I was told it was coming through the firewall and my ventialtion system. it was confirmed after I did a Intake System and the sound intensified.

FIX: Remove deflector, use 3m tape to re-seal and re-attach. If it or anything similar is loose on the outside of your truck it will make that sound. Very deceptive as far as the origin goes. I thought it was the rear windows since that is the cause of many sound issues and rattles.

In the Exterior forum, MagnumTRex posted a suggestion it is the windshield trim that causes the intermittent "flapping" noise I was hearing, originating from the passenger side, and suggested using the 2-sided 3m tape to secure it.

windshield noise at freeway speeds?

I needed to confirm that was the source (I didn't doubt it, just wanted to take the extra step before pulling things apart), so I pushed in some non-hardening body putty along the windshield trim - no more flapping!

My 09 has some minor wind noise, but under 50 MPH, you don't hear much at all.

I only heard it at Highway speed or combination of speed and wind. It wasn't consistent, but was annoying enough to get my attention.

There is a bulletin that was put out for this on the 2011. The number is 10-08-58-001. I found this on another board. They say that you have to be on the dealer to get them to actually do all 3 parts of the bulletin.

I have a real high pitched whistle when I get over 40mph near the mirror section of the drivers side window on my new 2011. I am taking it back in next week sometime and having the body shop at the dealership find it. It drives me NUTS!! I can hear it even over the stereo, up to half level anyway.

I noticed on the highway the trim around the windshield makes alot of noise. It almost sounds like a hard rain hitting the windshield. Has anyone else had this issue? Ive also been hearing something squeaking around the dash on the passenger side. Its a faint squeak and it only happens when I accelerate anyone hear of this?

The popping or cracking of the windshield was talked about in the other thread. I used the 3m tape between the molding and windshield and it went away completely.
