Bluetooth Interference for Wireless Backup Camera

Bluetooth Interference for Wireless Backup Camera

Postby bunks10 [OP] » Jul 12 2013, 7:51pm

I bought this 4UCAM wireless backup camera system with GPS for my 2012 Silverado crew cab. After installation, I found that the camera (license plate) kept flickering and then going out altogether. Contacted the supplier and was told that more than likely the Bluetooth was causing interference.

So I'm looking for any advice and/or recommendations. Are there any wireless systems that are not affected by Bluetooth or is there a way to easily disable the Bluetooth while I'm backing up? There are 2 transmitters, one at the backup light area and one at the display.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I dont think that its due to your bluetooth, its on close in freq, I would just return it and purchase a wired camera, or a better wireless unit. If that company disagrees, ask them what do you do if you backup to a car that has bluetooth? Haha If picks up your blue tooth it will pickup another vehicals bluetooth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth
