Flash Drive Song Playback Order

How to change the playback order on Flashdrive

Flash Drive Song Playback Order

Postby sudsysul [OP] » Dec 28 2010, 6:45pm

I just got a 2011 Silverado with the USB port. I love the fact that I can store tons of music and plug in and play them. What I'm wondering is if there is some way to control the order that the songs get played back and are listed on the radio. When I put mp3 files on in the order of the original CD, they somehow get changed around by the Chevy stereo in my truck?? Any ideas? Thanks!

It sounds like it is putting your music into a random play list. I would just put one CD on the thumb drive to verify this. Your manual might have more info on this as well.

I'm thinking that the radio looks at the files a certain way, and there probably is some attribute that I can change that sorts the order the way I want. I never thought about looking at the owner's manual.. I'll check it out. :D

Is it playing in alphabetical order? Might be doing that and not going by track number or anything like that.

I am with AK -- if you think about how Windows File manager sorts stuff, it could be alphabetical; by date and time the file was created; file size; or any one of a number of things.
I know I love the way the iPod connects to the truck. I can control everything right from the steering wheel--playlists, scrolling through songs, etc. The flash drive is definitely handy, but for more functionality you may want to consider using an actual MP3 device.
