I have a radio that worked great. Just a stock one no CD tape or such. A) worked great but one speaker did not.
B) Installed a used one same oms and it worked for about twenty miles.
C) no sound, all the digits work and can see that the channel changer is working. Clock works..
I do not believe that one different speaker would make the system shut off.

I think I read somewhere that you need to get a new radio matched up to your truck- some type of security code or something. I think the dealer needs to do that.
BTW, I'm too young for Coronas... how about some Dr. Pepper ?

I had an issue similar to this with my 2003 Silverado. I've never changed the radio, it's the stock unit, but one day it was working fine and the next day, nothing. Like you said the clock worked, it looked liked it was working, I could change stations, but no sound for the speakers. Pulled the radio fuse in the box under the hood,(I think it was a 15 amp) and it was blown. Put a new fuse in and bam, I had music!

Thank you kindly sir,,,and heavy on the sir! I had thought about the fuse ? looked in the door panel, none there .So it started to rain and came in the house to cry about it.
I check it in the AM..

Well the fuse did not . drove down the road about a mile,,,turn on noisy thing in the dash,, Tada, blink and off again.

You raskal!!!!Why don't cha come over to Oregon for winter, it will be lot warmer than at your place.? UNLESS you ICE FISH!! We never have any thing that freezes up hard enough to fish on.
