Stereo Problem

Postby rocksolidchevy03 [OP] » Feb 15 2012, 9:14pm

I have a 2003 Silverado 2500HD and have a Pioneer AVH4300DVD with all the adapters for stearing controls and stuff. After installing the CD player i noticed that the front right doesnt play as lound as the other speakers. The settings on the stereo arent offset or anything they are equal. I just need to know if i it could be a flaw in the stereo or Something interfering with the factory bose amp? Thanks.

Has it been like this since you installed the deck or just all of a sudden? Sometimes reverse polarity / out of phase can make a speaker sound quieter, at least in a sub. You could try switching the +/- for that door's speaker at the head unit or at the deck.

If switching the polarity doesn't work...
I do not know the exact wiring scheme w/ the bose setups but I would assume that it would work similar to any amp'd setup. By process of elimination, switch the left and right speaker at the deck. If the quiet speaker switches sides, then the issue is w/ the deck (or a setting in the deck). If the issue is still in the same speaker then the problem is in the amp or speaker (or crossover is there is one).

Try the polarity on the speaker then go to switching the leads left to right and evaluate your test results. Post your results too, it will help future readers...

Good luck.
