I will look for it, Thanks. That orange colorado was the first non black truck I have had. I wish I had the pictures of my 98 regular cab short box Z71 - in its day it was one of the nicest trucks around.

Very nice truck indeed. Two questions, first was my (mis)understanding that GM had discontinued the AFM for 2013 and second is your truck a 4wd? Some Z71 are 2wd here in the SE at least. . Thanks

AFM is not discontinued. In fact, in 2014, it will be in all gas engines (including the 6.2).

It is a 4x4, Z71, and it does have the Active Fuel Management system. The other 2013 on the lot had the AFM as well. Listed 30 mpg for highway on the window sticker.... but up here they use Imperial Gallons for that calculation for some reason, so it works out to 25 mpg using U.S gallons.

I did not know you could get a Z71 in 2 wheel drive.

Funny you mention that. I had 2 new tires here for my colorado, (17 inch) I was waiting for 2013 to purchase them. So I planned to go to my tire dealer tomorrow to let him know I no longer have a use for them, but see about ordering some 18'' for my truck, and also see if he can sell the new factory tires that are on my truck right now while they are still new.

I have become a major fan of BF goodrich All terrain T/A - and a lot of my friends have switched over to them since driving off road with me. I can go to places in 2 wheel drive that some guys have trouble with in 4x4 - and I really like the looks of them as well. I can't seem to find any decent pictures of them, so this one will have to do.

Image

The reason I was waiting till 2013, is this year my health benefit plan at work will reimburse me for winter tires.

Haha. The sticker price for this truck was exactly half of what I paid for my 1300 square foot house.

I work in the highest grade uranium mine in the world, as an Instrumentation Technologist, located in Saskatchewan Canada. The company flies me in and out once each week.

1 week in, 1 week out, 23 weeks at work, 29 at home.

This was my 98 Chev Z71 that I bought in 1999.

Image

I kept it till 2 years ago, parked since 2005, then sold it a guy who lived next door to the house I ended up buying months later after he bought the truck, spooky. He fixed it back up and it looked great and modern... and then started selling everything, I now regret not buying it back, we lost him to cancer less than a month ago.
