Glad I found you all !!!

Postby Yasukuni [OP] » Apr 28 2012, 10:05pm

Bought my first GMC Sierra in Feb. of this year (owned four Chev S10s starting in 84) loved my truck and could not have been happier. Two days ago when trying to start it, went into reduced power mode with several warning lights flashing. After a short while it restarted and ran normally except for an engine light. Took back to dealer, they've had it for two days and are telling me that although they know that it went into "limp home mode" that there are no codes and they cannot figure out why this happened. This has certainly taken the bloom off the rose for me. A $40,000 truck that I loved I now feel that I cannot trust. Thank You all for listening to my rand and hopefully some of you will have some advice or words of encouragement to help restore my love of this beautiful truck.

First welcome to the site.I wouldn't be to worried yet,let the dealer do their stuff.Sometimes you will get a glitch in a new truck.I'm sure they will have it dealt with soon.Good luck...

There is another thread on this and im pretty sure it mentions a groundconnection. And i believe there are tsbs on this. U need to get with a pal with access to tsbs and get him to run your truck through and collect them all

Had what sounds like the same thing happen twice in a Trailblazer. Both times it was a bad ignition switch (could have been the ground in the switch I guess). After the second one (months apart) it never happened again.

Good luck

Man that does suck...spending $40,000 you're expecting no problems for a LONG time.

Hopefully it works out for you, and we are glad you found SS.com as well! ;)

I know it's not a Ford, but I just repaired a new style Taurus that was doing the same thing. I had to replace the throttle body. It's a pretty common problem with their throttle body's.
