Hey,
I bought a white 98 GMC Sierra about 6 months ago. It had around 263,000 miles on it when I bought it. It didn't have 3rd gear or reverse, so I had to have the tranny rebuilt. Other than that it has had no major problems. The radiator has a small crack in the top and the power steering pump leaks. I have to replace those but no big deal.

I absolutely love my truck. Its a single cab short bed with a 5.0L V8 in it, and i love the power. There is nothing like the sound of American muscle. A buddy of mine helped me take out the muffler, cut the intermediate pipe off of it, clamp that back on, and pipe the rest of the exhaust with a turn out. I painted the stock wheels black, but kept the chrome beauty rings and the center caps, and it looks great! I think it is incredible how just painting the rims can affect the whole outlook of the truck.
