New Here

Postby Dragon [OP] » Sep 21 2011, 6:40pm

Hi there, I just got my new (to me) 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD W/T 4x4 5sp 6.0L Ext Cab Std Bed on August 28 with 50k miles on it, took me forever to find a full size with a manual tranny. So far I have installed a tonneau cover, rain guards, 7in flip out CD/DVD player, new 7+4 way wire harness, dual flowmaster Super 44s 3in/out with chevy tips, planning on adding a new center seat/console(mine doesn't fold down) nerf bars, rear window louvers, tail light guards, diablosport trinity tuner, new speakers, swap out the headlights with HIDs and add fog lights, and bigger wheels and tires. Any suggestions would be great.

Welcome aboard!

Looks like you made two Member Intro threads. Maybe the admin will combine the two...

Is that an El Camino in the driveway? We need to see pics of that!

Hey, I posted on your other introduction too, but I like this one better (it has pics  ). Very nice truck, I bet it's awesome with the manual tranny and only 50K miles, sweet. Welcome aboard (again) :D

I love my El Camino I got a couple of pics that I don't currently have access to right now (I'm at work) but here is one with my 2009 Chevy HHR SS that I traded in to get my Silverado, and my motorcycle Suzuki Boulevard C50T. It was an auto which confused me, finally back to a manual tranny though only vehicle I ever had that wasn't a truck and wasn't manual, besides the motorcycle.

Welcoem to the board! Lots of mods so far, I like it. Post some pics with all your mods if you can too..

For HIDs, I just put a set in. You can get them at quite a few places. I've heard good things about DDM Tuning, but do not have any personal experiecne with them. Installation is a snap, you can look in my photo gallery of my install process. I went with 8K, which is Iceberg Blue. It's borderline to being too blue, but I'm not unhappy with them by any means. I can't imagine going back to crappy dim halogen bulbs ever again..

and as for you dream car Dragon... "drool".. I'll take two please! lol

The HIDs I was looking at are 6k I want them as pure white as possible don't like the blue lights, then some 3k for the fog lights. I currently have no fog lights and that is the biggest part with the HIDs I will have a problem with as far as I understand it at least with the kit all you have to do is plug it up and go. As soon as I get off I am taking some pics hasn't been nice out at the same time that I had free time since I got the exhaust done last Friday.

I've got some 3k fogs from Krypton. I'll post some pics tonight.
