Hello All,
I just found this site, I've recently gotten back into the Chevrolet scene with my new-to-me military 2002 Silverado 2500 variant. It's closest to a 2500HD, with all the extra doo-dads that aren't on civvy trucks from GM Defense. It's got the Duramax/ Allison combo with 34k on the odometer. I plan to use it as a replacement for my existing vehicle-hauler. I'm located in far north california and this is my first Chevy purchase in quite a few years. Hopefully i can track down the stuff i need here on the forums! Anyways, a couple pictures!
Welcome to the site! and beautiful truck. It's different, but still nice.
I see you just joined a few minutes ago, I recommend reading Site FAQ's

Gotta love the military trucks! What I would give for an old CUTV (military issue K5 Blazer) and they always have great ideas-the larger tow rings, brush guard, front tow hitch, etc... Have fun and welcome to the site
You are one lucky dog being able to get your hands on a Milverado. Its really rare to see them released to John Q. Public. How did you come across it? I've been looking for about 2 years for one at auction.

Not a lot of em out there in public hands. I've seen a few go across the auctions but the cucv III's that have hit, usually are beat to hell, this was the first one that didn't look cannibalized or beat in that i jumped on. I am starting to see more of the CUCV II's with the 6.5 TD on the military market these days. Good luck in your search. Something about the straight headlghts and big hood appeal to me, plus none of the nasty emission stuff on the later duramaxes.
Talking about 50 cals..
OK I know this post isn't Silverado related, but i got to drive a freakin tank today! My buddy just got it last night. It dwarfs my H1! One more thing to scratch off the bucket list.. nothing like a giant Rolls Royce engine revving up a foot away from your head.
Not many duramaxs out there that model with that low of miles
