New Sierra owner

Postby ilyes [OP] » Jul 08 2012, 4:36am

Hey,

I finally made it, owning a 4x4 pickup. I've been wanting one since I watched "Walker Texas Ranger", needless to say it was a decade ago.
I got an 01 Sierra LTE from copart, truck is in a very sorry shape, much worse than described. It was the only thing I could afford anyway, and I love it already :D

It has 110 on the clock, supposedly blown engine from the tow truck driver. SO far, I'm more convinced of a missfire and exhaust leak. 4 Low won't engage, and many other things. Rusted through front subframe, same for crossmember. Missing handles, door panel, torn rear bumper and requires some massive body work

Welcome to the site. Take a lot of pics and document the rebuild, it'll be nice to see it brought back to former glory.

I'm gonna start on the truck asap, but I got to finish the Monte Carlo first, I'm welding patches right now.
Hopefully the truck will see my tool sometimes next week

Thanks for the warm welcoming.

Should I keep posting on here about the truck or there's a better suited section on the forum?

Welcome to the site! got a bit of a project on you hands it seems! but it would be boring if it was perfect and you needed to do nothing to it.

Should've bought a V8

I may be from the South, but I'm not an idiot, I do own a GMC after all.

Welcome aboard!

That's a nice project truck. Hit all that rust rot up with some metal protecter or rust converter right away.
Marine because.

I'm gonna cut it. Body wise, only rocker panels are touched, the rest is rust free, for the frame, I'll cut generously and get some THICK steel to patch it
