News of Towing/Trailers

I've been searching all over the net for a diagram of break controller harness for my 02 sierra!! I've seen some minor descriptions, but the descriptions are never fallowed by a diagram of how to tell which wire goes in which of the six different slots. I received a harness from my father in law that may be from an 04 silverado but he doesn;t know for sure!! I was wondering if anyone had pictures/diagrams ...

Hi guys. Just picked up a 2001 Silverado LS ext cab with 5.3L engine (yes tow package with ride control switch, and tow/haul button on shift leaver) looked on the door post and glove compartment to find gear ratio #'s since I'm trying to figure out everthing for towing but don't see the info anywhere. Anyone have any ideas. thanks in advance. :D

I have a 2001 silverado and am getting ready to install a reciever hitch. I see up under the bed near the bumper there is a box that has leads to the tail lights. Can i simply buy something to plug into this box to run my trailer lighting??

My lil 5x10 trailer is only a year old, but we've outgrown it (we as in my landscape\lawncare company). I found a KILLER deal on craigslist: $950\b.o for a 20' tandem axle trailer, with wooden sides. Brand new, I'm looking at at least $2400, before tax and title. I'm going out to see it on Saturday, so my questions are:

What to look for? I've got a decent mechanical mind, and don't mind fixing stuff ...

This will be a case of big sister taking care of little sister. T-Rex will be taking Snowflake to the mechanic tomorrow. We rented a U-Haul Auto Transport to do this. This will be my first time towing with the new truck and first for towing the old one.

I believe the curb weight of the trailer is 1600 Lbs and the S10 is 4000 Lbs for a total of 6600Lbs.

Yup towed my dads Ford 54 miles cause the spark plugs pulled out. Of course when he drove it onto the trailer the brakes went out so it went off trailer into back of truck. I had been picking on him how a chevy had to tow a Ford. After I calmed down he joked about this is what a Ford can do to a Chevy. My reply was at least my Chevy can still ...

So after owning my '04 Z71 a few weeks it was finally time to put it to work. I installed a brake controller hooked up a friends car hauler and drove 120 miles from home. Loaded up a customer wrecked DHS and came home. This things tows like a champ ran 65-70 the whole way turning close to 3k on the tach and got 14.5 m.p.g. round trip. I love my new truck.

Okay, so i have a pretty much stock 4.3l 2wd. only performance mod on it is a 40 series flowmaster muffler. but i was wondering. what exactly can the 4.3 haul/tow? now not im not really like for numbers, but as far as experiences such as car trailers, campers, strawbales? basic things like that. I've got an'11 Silverado Crew with a 5.3 HD tow pkg and 3.42 gears. I tow a boat that comes in at 6300 lbs with trailer gear & fuel. I feel the truck needs a little more power when towing. I am considering getting the Diablo Intune and custom tuning it for towing. Just curious to find if anyone else out there has seen any improvement with towing after a tune?

Folks this is totally a newbie question, but I figured better safe than sorry. My pop up tent trailer was last pulled by a Ford F-150. The wiring harness was originally wired for "that" truck. Is there any reason why I can't plug the same female end into my new 2012 Silverado? I can't see why there would be, but you never know.
