FS: Flowmaster 40 series single in/dual out

Postby TexasEdition [OP] » Jun 05 2012, 4:08am

Muffler has about 20k miles on it as it was the first modification I did to my truck when it had about 200 miles on it. Its a single in, Dual out. As with any muffler with atleast 1000 miles on it, it has surface rust, however its only surface rust, no rust in the metal. We use sand here in Texas and not salt for ice and snow, if we ever get any. I think our winter we had last year had an average high temp of 61* in Dallas. LOL

I have one on my truck. They're pretty loud, especially at around 1500 rpms. Nice low pitch roar

They have a nice low rumble while idling, and can get up to a roar at WOT. It's kind of a "best of both worlds" muffler.

I understand it will be noticeable but was it so bad that you had to talk over it?

Depends on how you have them set up.

I had my 40 installed in the stock muffler position on my Avy (under the cab) with a turndown tip. It wasn't bad at all until I gave it gas to pass someone, then you could really hear it. If you have it run through pipes out the back of the truck, it's even less drone.

This is a video so you can hear, this was my Avalanche.

-edit- The first minute is really all you need, after that it kinda focuses on my son, sorry. LOL.
