Glad you got the tune installed Bruce. I have not yet made a copy of my original factory tune to my PC. Probably ought to do that. I am curious about what happens if you take it to a shop and they re-flash while you have your tune on there...do you just plug back your tuner to the OBD II and re-install the 87 octane tune what?

I believe if they reflash with the tune on then you will have to have Diablo unlock your tuner as it won't restore the stock tune back on as it will detect a tune other then it's own and therefore think you're trying to tune a different vehicle, always best to restore stock tune before going in for service.

That was what I was thinking might be the case. I guess that is why they sell these...

Thanks for the info.

Cheapest one I could find is still $15! http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBD-II-OBD2-Do-Not-Reflash-Cover-Tuned-Modifed-Vehicles-Import-Domestic-/302035308869?hash=item4652b51145:g:5GAAAOSw0JpV5d9q&vxp=mtr

That's why lew always says TUNE TO STOCK BEFORE TAKING IT TO THE DEALER. You never know what those guys will do to your truck when it's in the bay

If you plug up your programmer to the computer, the stock tune should be in the TUNES folder. Just copy and paste them into a new folder on your computer.

I too installed the 87 Tune with AFM Deleted (previously just had AFM deleted only) and I didn't notice much improvement. I've only had it tuned a week so maybe the computer needs to "relearn" again. Every now and then it feels a little more peppy off the line though.

I didn't make any changes to the TCM tune since I already have a Vette Servo installed and I'm hesitant to installed the firm shift tune with the servo. I feel it might be too hard. I will probably go in and reduce the TM to -20% (I have the 4L60E so I don't have the On/Off function) to see if that helps. Not sure how much TM was removed with the 87 tune though. I think only TM on the motor side is removed and nothing from the trans side.

Just purchased the Lew tune today so awaiting to get that going. 87 didn't make any diff really either to me. Changing to firm shift makes it feel much diff. Engine TM is removed with the 87 tune but you have to remove the transmission TM in the TCM settings. I haven't messed with that as I've read it can cause issue although Lew says he always turns it off with the 6 speed transmission I believe. Can't wait to get Lew to work his magic!

Mine started ticking as well but I can't recall if it started right after the tune or not. I now mix MMO with the gas and no more tick. I have heard others say that they noticed a tick post tune as well though

Oh, and another question. Since the the tuner connects to the internet via WiFi, is the USB cord only for power?

Where did you read that it connects via wifi?

It states it clearly in the owners manual and I had to input my network PW to allow it to connect.

That's something new. I wonder why they would do that since you have to have it plugged in anyway.

Yeah that's new, mine didn't have that either, I have had mine less than a month also, so that's very new.
