I just bought a 2005 Chevy 1500 Z71.
On my way home I found that the turn signals and emergency flashers aren't working. Experience tells me its the flasher , but I can't find it marked on any of my PDC maps. Can anyone help with this???
Thanks,
Daniel

I think the flashers are controlled by the BCM...there is not the "old fashioned" relay/flasher thing to swap out.

Did you check here:

Instrument Panel Fuse Block
The fuse block access
door is on the driver's side
edge of the instrument
panel. Pull off the cover to
access the fuse block.
To remove fuses, hold the end of the fuse between
your thumb and index finger and pull straight out.
You may have spare fuses located behind the fuse block
access door. These can be used to replace a bad
fuse. However, make sure it is of the correct amperage.

Check you owner manual. That where I got the above from. Take the cover off and it should show you where the "flash" is located

I tried to cut and paste from the owners manual but could not. If you go to the bottom on the page and look up the owners manual and go to page 5-129 and 5-130 it will show you where the flasher is suppose to be.

i replaced mine in my 04 silverado 1500 its behind the fuse block in the cab. remove the knee guard deal below the steering wheel and youll c it. If you cant see it turn on your hazards and you can hear it. its pretty big like 2" or so long and its (or at least mine) was 10 prong and had letters above each prong. How this helps

I am also interested in the resistor you used and how you attached it. Could you possibly take pictures? I just installed LED lights in my tailights on my Silverado and am unsure of where to put the resistors. It would be really nice to be able to find that relay (if it exists in the newer trucks) though. I'll search for one tonight.

I emailed my local dealership about this, and if reprogramming the computer is possible. Here is their reply:

Mr. Joslin. We can reprogram the BCM with an updated program for $247.00.( ) This procedure will take approximately ½ day. Let me know when I can schedule you in. ThANKS
So it sounds like it is possible to reprogram the computer, it'll just cost you...
