if its not the seal going to the firewall like mentioned above it is probably the Intermediate Shaft. My new body 07 did this when turning, almost sounded like a fart noise..dealer slapped some lube on the shaft...then it only lasted two weeks. then i took it back and they gave me a whole new IS shaft
Both my nnbs do it.... And others ive talked to have it also. Personally i dont worry about it... Youd think they would have fixed this by now? Mine doesnt sound like the IM shaft...ive only seen those shafts blamed for thumps, but i guess it could be the cause. Sounds like rubber squeaks... Like the seal at the fw...
Yea, seems to be at the firewall. I lubed myself the other day after cleaning the throttle body. It seem to help a little bit. And yes it is only when I turn. I can't hear it other then that due to road noise from my tires or it's not there. I'll c hkw it acts in the next couple of days.
MY 2012 SILVERADO HAS THE SAME SQUEAKING NOISE WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEED SUCH AS WHEN PARKING. YOU CANNOT HEAR IT OTHERWISE. I LUBED THE SHAFT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FIREWALL, BUT IT DID NOT MAKE THE SQUEAK GO AWAY.HAVE AN EXTENDED WARANTTY FROM THE DALER, BUT IT WILL ONLY COVER PARTS - NOT THE COST TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. SHOOT.....
LOL mine has no noise when cold, just when it warms up. Annoying!
