It did not upset the ride of my truck, but did improve its ability to hang on to turns. Now I drive my truck a little more "sporty" than some. I would recommend the sway bar if you feel the back end of your truck wanting to step out when you are cornering.
I have found that exiting freeways to be quite exhilarating. The truck is very sure footed for the way I drive. I like pressing it in corners.
Does anyone have pictures after the install? I'm 'considering' a beefier front bar and need to look into the fitment of the matching rear - I've heard it can have issues clearing the rear.
Heard great things about these on here and from others, go for it!
It looks like you're missing the 1/2" spacers that goes between the ends of the sway bar and the bushings of the end links. See photo 3 on page 3 of the installation instructions.
Thanks! I figured that out too...I went to my installer and told them...they still had the spacers...they added the spacers, turned the u-bolts back as in the install guide photos...all looks good, but it is a really CLOSE fit all around. My installer told me that truck manufacturers tolerances on build vary up to 1/2 inch from vehicle to vehicle. I wonder, to foreign manufacturers also have that much variance?
I don't see any clearance issues. Be sure to follow directions closely...my installer did not...and I had to go under the truck several times to correct mistakes...like spacers, proper torque on bolts, alignment of saddle mounts, etc...ended up purchasing a new ratchet set, deep sockets and torque wrench!
Nightmares...the shop put some spacers on when I took it back...they looked too small...so I called Hellwig and they sent me a new set of hardware that included the spacers and longer bolts...the shop lost both on the original install! I put every thing on correctly and will never use the shop again...I mean, they are idiots if they cannot bolt on a sway bar made for the truck!
In today's world...you must know the job better than the specialist...or you get screwed! This applies to everything you ask another to do...including doctors, lawyers and bankers!
