I plan on buying some 20x12s very soon and eventually a 7 inch lift but for now might just get a leveling kit 2-3 in front and 2 in rear, question is could I clear 35x12.50-20s??

One observation, if you're doing a 2-inch lift in front and a 2-inch lift in back, you aren't doing a leveling kit. You've just raised the truck up two inches all the way around. If you add the 2-inch lift to the front only, that is a leveling kit. That said, 33s are as big as I would go with only a leveling kit. No rub.

I have been reading some of the other posts i think im just going to do a 2-3 inch leveling kit and put some 305 20s on it for now do yall think I can clear some 20x12s with a -44 offset with it leveled or possibly turn up the torsion bars a little tighter in the front after the leveling kit is installed

i know im new to the thread, but ive been studying the whole max tire size situation for awhile. i have the 2 inch level on my 06 and 33's will fit with no rub. im about to put a 1.5 inch BL and stuff some 35's i know im going to have to trim some stuff but with the 1.5" spacers itll fit. the guys at the 4wd shop said it wouldnt be done without a min of a 4" SL which im going to love the look on their faces when i show them lol. but back to your question just make sure that you are 100% sure on the backspacing /offset on your new wheels because of the width difference in the new tires vs stock. oh and you might want to try and lift your truck with stock keys before buying "lift" keys cause the ones i bought were the exact size of my stock keys. and another thought, dont thing just because you have more threads on the bolts you can keep jacking it up, i did and i locked my wheel bearing up and nearly had a wheel-off/rollover on the freeway (90 mph) leveling is fine but dont over do it. let us know how yours goes for ya.

hey Jon, I have a 2006 crew cab 2500 hd lbz. It has a leveling kit with 34x11.50x20 10 inch wide wheel. with like a 20 offset I believe. They currently do rub the inner fender wheels. Currently tire shopping and found a set of 33x12.50x10. My question is how much worse better or indifferent will the rubbing be due to the decrease in diameter of a inch but added inch of width on the same wheels. Seems like your a knowledgeable person and could answer my question

With a 12" wide wheel and -44 offset you would rub with 31's. That is gonna stick out WAY too far. With the wheels sticking out that far it's gonna take 7" of lift just to clear 35's and it may even still rub at that.

I am going with 20x10 -24 offset fuel hostages with 295/55-20 nitto trail grapplers and a leveling kit i figure that should be good that equals about a 32.5 inch tall tire, you think it will work??[/quote]
No it won't. The offset of the wheel comes more into play than the tire size does. A 10" wide wheel with -24 offset is still gonna stick out significantly. You are probably gonna need something closer to 8.5-9" wide with at least 0 offset. I'm planning on going with a leveling kit and a 8.5" wide wheel with +15 offset.

Jon's post is from 2011. He has not been on the site since 2015. I wouldn't expect an answer. It would be best to start a new thread instead of resurrecting one that has been dormant for several years.
