Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie here and was hoping for some help from anyone that knows about tires. What's biggest tire size I can fit on my 2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4X4 without adding any body lifts or leveling kits?

The car is currently fitted with LT265/70R18 tires, which is about 32.6" in diameter. From the looks of it, I think I can add 2.5" but I'm not sure how the width would factor in.

Any feedback on the matter would be great.

Hi guys I'm new to your site. I've had my 2012 GMC Sierra 2500HD for a few months now. It came with the 17" tires and they look so tiny in the wheel wells. It's time to upgrade. I was reading this thread and am also trying to figure out what size I can put on without lifting for the time being. I also want to level the front end but have heard in doing so you sacrifice comfort in the ride. Is that true? I have seen leveling kits or also just tightening up the swing arms a bit? What brand of tires are you guys running and what are your likes / dislikes. I need to pick a brand. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

Pretty new here myself.

I'm on my 5th GM 3/4 ton- latest is a 2012 crewcab.

This fall we bought a larger truck camper and needed more tire capacity. Bought 4 Nitto Dura Grapplers (highway tread) in the 285/75-17 size. 3970# capacity each.

My local shop owner has a late model 2500HD himself and knew how to get bigger tires to work. He slightly raised the front to level it and just had to pull the inner liner back a little (behind the front tires).

No rubbing.

Good luck with yours.

I'm not sure how relavent this is since you guys have 2500's. but on my 1500 with a 2.5 inch leveling kit i was able to run a 315-70-17 with no rubbing or trimming what so ever. I figure the leveling kit on my 1500 would be about stock hight for a 2500.

I was just browsing through this and was wondering the same about my '12 Silverado... What is a decent rim and tire set up that will not rub or require a lift or leveling kit (cant afford either but the stock tires are not up to par and the rims EHH)
Here is what I am looking for: Maybe the
Ultra 175 Rogue; Size 17x8, 18x8.5, 18x10

With either these; Open Country H/T; Wild Country XTX Sport (dont know the size)

anything will help

Not to dig up an old post, but I finally swapped out my stock 265/60R20's for a set of Terra Grappler G2's 275/65R20. Those come out to about 34.2 inch tires, so about 1.5" over stock. My T bars have been cranked, I'd say about 50%. Everything clears fine on the front end with the sway bar and up top with the UCA. The aft/inboard side would rub the inside of the tire right before full lock, but a quick trim with a pocket knife did the trick! Overall, I'm happy with them. Only 20 miles on them so far. A bit louder than the cheap tires the dealer put on, but nothing to write home to Mom about.
