Re: Not a popular choice, turned AFM back on

... then 2 miles to the gym. My transmission never gets above 110 on a warm day. It takes my truck about half my commute to hit operating temp for coolant. Every two to three weeks I drive 20-30 miles on the highway to visit in laws and that's the only time I feel the truck operates in optimum ...

Re: 2010 White Smoke from Tailpipe

Like how much white smoke? It might be a breach of your coolant system which would lead to coolant getting in the engine oil system... IE a blown head gasket

Re: HOT ENGINE A/C OFF message on DIC 2008 4.3L

gsellers1245 wrote:I found the fix for mine. The thermostat was sticking. I had an 08 4.3 and it was just out of warranty. It did it intermittently then just stayed on. Swapped that t-stat and topped off coolant. No problems 40k after that. Traded it in and i bet its still going strong.

what thermostat did you use?

Re: 2013 5.3L Blowing White Smoke (smells like burning oil)

I've always been taught that white smoke equals a coolant leak. Should be an easy find and hopefully fix for your dealer. Good luck!

Re: Transmission problems with my Chevy Silverado

trans is bad in my opinion due to coolant contamination, you will need a radiator too becuase the cooler is made in it, bonding material on the clutches break down from glycol in coolant, its the only explination for fluid overfull, SORRY!
