Re: Stock 2003 silverado 1500 exhaust

I guess it depends on your state's law, specifically about mufflers and emissions. If you're required to have a muffler, chop it after the muffler. There are plenty of guys on here that have it dumped before the rear axle under the bed.

Re: Brake pad friction ratings?

Yeah I think it's a requirement that the pads be stamped. I should probably check my brakes. My brake pedal is soft, almost makes me nervous at times in the city when I have to slam the brakes. But I guess older Chevys just brake like that? Our 2012 Silverado 3500HD can stop on a damn dime.

Re: 2003 sierra z71 options

Thanks for the info. I guess it's not a big deal if my truck doesn't have a locker. It's just more fun doing burnouts with.

Re: Dealer over filled oil

Maybe GM just rounded it up to six, instead of 5.625 quarts.

Yep, do what the manual says-6 qts. That's what the manufacturer wrote in your manual-your covered.

Re: Service 4WD

... for the most part as well. I was able to switch 4WD modes again without any issues. I'm thinking it was the rain that was messing the system up. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on it and figure out if this would be covered under my warranty.
