You drop driveshaft and you can pull the seal with a curved hook almost like a dental tool. tap the new one in... however I had a 97 that would leak if it sat awhile then would be fine for awhile after I drove her maybe just take her for a spin more often

Sometimes a head gasket wont leak much or at all until a certain temperature is reached. It is caused by movement of the parts from expansion and contraction but because they are made of different materials they expand at different rates. ...

I would recommend this procedure to no one. It is illegal to purposefully vent R12 OR R134a to the atmosphere.

It is also illegal to add freon to a system with a known leak.
