The latch is complete with everthing i took off of it. Call me if you wuold like the specifics, not sure what tab you are refering to ? Dave 816-695-8628
Does it have the little tab that slides in so you can bolt the trim on? I need that I pulled mine apart to have a look and the damn thing fell inside the tailgate..no getting that back!
I have a black tailgate handle off my 2008 silverado. It was on my pickup for 2months than replaced with a locking one. it is in excellent condition $20.00 plus shipping if necessary.
... install a factory OEM tailgate lock matching the ignition key for under $80...installed! You can do that yourself for 40 bucks. I bought the OEM taligate lock for My old truck,about an hour to install, uses the ignition key.
... and cut it to the right length. Then took a drill and made in inside diameter larger to fit over the piece. It made for a snug fit but now my taligate latches like new Would love to see a picture showing how you did that. Good idea. Rubber hose and a tube of silicone can go a long way.
