i know this is an old post that was resurected but yes they are the same engine, same ecm same tranny, my pops has a large autowreckers and deals with these swaps all the time, same block and same components with classic 03-07 ......99 - 02 same block but may have different ...
... and that thing was amazing given how hard I drove it and how little maintenance I did on it. Had absolutely no problems with 277k miles until the tranny went out. I love my silverado and for the money, it really just can't be beat.
Even with problems a chevy will still try to run.....my s-10 still was trying to run on a dead tranny at 265,000 miles original tranny when it died i drove 10 miles on it at 25mph home! I woudlnt drive anything else!
