The 4L80e usually gets pegged at 195. It only crosses the 200 mark once or twice a year. The Allison in the diesel runs hotter, but apparently that's normal for the Allison. I'd bet my life on either trans.

So Starspangled, just curious, what kind of trans temps do you see with 15K. Mine will climb to around 200 with 11k at highway speeds and up and down the rolling hills.

I'd stay within recommended tongue weight of which hole you select on your receiver shank. Extended shanks reduce your overall tongue weight and towing capacities and increase stress on your hitch if used incorrectly.
