I agree no one sells just the drop kit. I am making my own was well. I did get the spec's on the ones like shown in the pic from one of the vendors. However they are only 1/2" for front and back of differential. I am going to make mine 1/2" for the front and 3/4" in the back just to tilt the differential a bit. I i had the specs for the ones that looked like the RC ones I could most likely make them as well. Making mine out of steel though in lieu of the aluminum. And heat treating them.

Well hey i have the specs of them as well they are an inch wide in diameter on the flat sides...and half an inch thick with a 12MM bolt running threw the middle of them...but if you have the capabilities of making them dude im all in if you could make me a set. if you make them 3/4" in the back and 1/2" in the front thats fine but i think its the opposite way so the differential and drive shaft are in line....you will need to grind off of the differential to install them with the tilt that is why companies other then rough country use the 1/2" spacer...if you wanna make them 1 1/2" in diamete and 3/4" thick with the 12MM bolt i am pretty sure that be even better...
out of the companies out there on ebay that you look threw i called them all supreme suspension has 2 different kits (one with one without) and they are only reccomended...rought country says you must and the bigger names say you must ( but i think it is so they can sell you a whole kit)...and the rest of the companies say no its bogus as long as this isnt like your going romping threw the desert at high speeds or rock crawling putting tons of stress on your cv you wont have an issue..especially since this is my daily driver they said i have absolutely no worries...even then better safe then sorry right?

Im still searching to find someone that actually had the cv blow on out them because of not having the drop diff installed...i havent found any. also havent found any one that says that the drop diff saved theres from breaking in stressful situations... but nothing so i cant find hard evidence its actually necessary at all...

but as i said before if you have the capability of making them and are willing to make me a set ill gladly pay for them and your time..i know what machine shops in my area are charging lol, and i am the warehouse manager at an engineering firm in raleigh so i will schedule the pick up and shipment and will do all that on my end just tell me the location of pickup.

below is the picture of supreme suspensions drop diffs and the specs they have given me

and never mind you are correct im thinking opposite lol the front is lower then the rear lol

I also actually though about simply taking 1 1/2" washers 1/4" thick and stacking 2 or 3 together to make it 1/2" or 3/4" thick with the right size whole in the middle using all grade 8 bolts and washers and seeing how that would work/ what do you think? Some people said yeah and others said no because they would eventually rub apart from vibrations but it think grade 8 would take a horrific pounding and would last much longer then i have the truck. i mean your allowed to use a grade 8 bolt to pull a trailer on your hitch if you dont have a pin...no matter how big the trailer. and it vibrated constantely and never breaks down i think the washers would be alright.

That is the same company i contacted. They gave me 1 3/8" outside dia. and 1/2" inside hole. They said theirs are 1/2" thick for both. I was going by the guys picture that had the actual RC kit and contacted him he said the back was taller then the frontm so that is why i was going to make two 1/2" and two 3/4". He was out out town and said he could get actual measurements when he got back. I have not made mine yet. I forgot to ask how long the new bolts needed to be though.

3.5 Rough Country Lift

Postby gmctruckguy » Feb 02 2012, 2:20am

If you drop it only 1/2" you should be ok, if you have to drop it more your going o run into the front yoke hitting the crossmember.
The shiny spot is where I had to remove a fin just like the one to the left of it.

Did you have bolts holding your differential up or were they studs sticking down on the passenger side? I have an 08 and the body shop guy is telling me they are studs not bolts, if you had bolts how long were the new ones you had to put in?

yeah see the rough country one you have to grind that part off to make it fit because they roll the diff and have it dropping like 1 1/2" to 1" in the front or whatever...im dropping mine 3/4" when i get my other situation figured out lol
