3.5 Rough Country Lift

Postby 2012Sierra [OP] » Jan 17 2012, 9:10pm

A lot of sierra or silverado drivers have wondered about the RC kit well tomorrow night i will post before and after pics of this lift and will answer any questions about handling and driving. Some things people need to know about rough country is that over the past few years they have changed there kits and are much better and drive better. feel free to post questions or comments on my truck.

I bought that lift a couple years ago and drivability still feels the same, look is awesome, and just feels alittle stiffer than stock over bumps. Overall a good lift for the money without modifying stock.

ive this exact kit on my truck raising it 3 inches in total but leveling it at the same time with 285/60/r 18's my fenders sit front and back exactly at 41 1/4" off the ground....i love it it rides perfect only thing i dont have is the differential drop brackets which i wish i have. when you get your kit installed i just am wondering can you ask and see if you get the truck leveled without them will it hurt anything, then im curios will i need another alignment if i buy the differential drop brackets and install them. or can i install them and it will be fine after i have already installed the lift and got it aligned?

I just looked it up. It looks like it is a big level kit with a diff drop. What does it do to correct LCA and CV angles? I am in for pics of angles once you get it installed!!

3.5 Rough Country Lift

This is the Rough Country 3 1/2" lift front diff drop bracket, it angles the diff also for clearance of the pinion yoke.

i had the rc 3.5 on my 2007 silverado back when i bought it it was only supposed to be a 3 inch leveling kit and after they realized how much it really lifted the truck i guess they changed it to a 3.5 inch lift kit. i had 35 inch nittos on my truck with this kit and never had any problems with anything it only rubbed plastic but a razor blade will fix that i didnt add the new blocks to the rear so my truck had a good squat to it. hope your installation goes better than mine that diff drop is a pain by yourself.

thats what im wondering i will probably have to get it algined if i add the differential drop brackets to mine, i only had to buy the bottom strut spacers for mine because the blocks in the rear and the upper strut puck was already on the truck when i bought it....so i never thought about the drop bracket. is it a neccessity?

Get the diff drop brackets and the sway bar drop brackets as well. They're made to help keep angles good and parts lasting longer and most likely will be cheap
