6 lug to an 8 lug??

6 lug to an 8 lug??

is it possible for a 2000 silverado with a 6 lug to be changed to an 8 lug..i can get a pretty sweet hookup on some 8 lug chevy rims and tires but i am still learning about these damn chevys!

Oh I am sure it can be done. Have to change the rear axle assembly. Why do you want to do that?

Be careful with adaptors, they are a really popular change to get different wheels on, but when I was in the Jeep world with my JK two door and Unlimited you had to maintain them. They need to be torqued regularly, the last thing you want is to see that sweet deal of a wheel go rolling by ya at 80 mph. Other problems are they change up your steering geometry which will wear out bearing and other suspension parts quicker.

I always cringed at how the rice burners kids would swap spacers like they where underwear back when I was on my Civic forum.
