HELP! Rough Country Lift with stock 16x7 wheels?

Postby archerykid96 [OP] » Aug 13 2012, 8:13am

Hey all! BIG IMPORTANT QUESTION! I have ordered my Rough Country 6" lift for my 99 4WD Silverado 1500. It should be here tomorrow (august 14). Question is, with my stock rims which I will keep using, will I need wheel spacers or will they work? I've got 265/75/16s on the stock rims right now, but will be replacing them with 315/75/16's soon after the lift is on. So will I need spacers or not? I believe the rims are aluminum. I'm pretty sure they're 7" wide, but its kind of hard to find specs on the stock wheels for some reason. I would LOVE a definitive answer! And if so, what size spacers do I need?

why would you want stock wheels with that much lift.If ya dont want to spend alot of cash go with some "soft 8's" but the stock wheels will work on those 35'S

Well I ordered 1.5" spacers because I found a deal on a set that was cheaper than 1" spacers. And I know tires are not the problem. Its the wheels hitting the knuckles that was gonna be the problem. But either way I bought the spacers online today.. Soo soon as they get here I'll put the lift on and my new 305/70/16's :D

I'll sure put some on as soon as it's all put together! I'm putting the lift on on the 31st. Heres the details: 6" Rough Country Lift, 305/70/16 tires MT tires, stock wheels, 1.5" spacers, and plasti dip for the wheels. :)

I've been looking at the rough country 6" lift for my 03 Chevy as well. It's got 16x8 vision warrior rims. I wasn't sure if I would need the spacers too. If you could tell me once you get the lift on weather or not you needed them my wheels have a 0 off set so they sit further out anyways.

Alright this lift is on! I'll post pics in my gallery or a separate topic.. I ended up not needing the wheel spacers. I just had to grind off the lower ball joint bolt at the bottom. Just like .5" of the bottom of the bolt. Did the trick! The truck looks SICK.
