Good question... at this stage in the game you shouldn't have to top off any fluids.

Not a good idea to dilute any of those fluids. They are made to certain specs for a reason, because that's what they require to work properly.

BY diluting i mean change out , what i can remove (used fluid) with new fluid. removing the drain plug, turkey baster the power steering and brake fluid I pull heavy trailers and construction material all day 230 to 250 on the transmission temp display thats when i am looking at it, in the case of the transmission fluid every 10 degrees above 190 cuts the service life in half ,as i stated they did put that very large powering steering cooler in there for nothing, also the transmission cooler is just bare minimum they claim hd bull i installed a larger tranny cooler in my car hauling 6 people every day to work you need it if you want the car to last,.brake fluid is hydroscopic, dot3 starts to absorb water as soon as it comes in contack with air

I have read 175 to 200 degrees but i use 190 because manufactures of tranny coolers that i have installed use that temp to start from , fluids for the newer cars tend to be synthetic , at 190 to 200 degrees those fluid could last 100000 miles manufactures recommend !!!!!,why any one would want to take a chance with running the fluid even 50000 miles is a mystery to me, have you ever seen tranny fluid at 20000 or 30000 looks like mud!!!!! without over heating once it has been overheated, or even if it hasn't flushing the fluid at those tranny shop with chemicals that gm warn against dosen't bring the life back, to remove the varnish from the valves and solenoids it takes removal of the tranny usually when it fails from burnt fluid my very expensive personnel experience, since changing all fluids and over working the trucks, cars i have owned new and used and changing the fluids at the intervals i described has only cost me two transmissions both from failures of cooler lines in the radiator that fed water into the trannys!!!!! at the repair shop the mechanics remarked that the inside of both tranny looked new ????????? new !!!!! 60000 and 80000 miles ,These golden rules have saved me gold.
