Level Options....Sell Me!

Postby harleyboy63401 [OP] » Apr 19 2012, 4:21pm

I have a 2007 Silverado Classic 4 x4 ext. cab that I bought new. Looking at leveling the truck. I want to do this without any fear of front end problems as I will probably have this truck another 10 years.

So what brand level kit or do I do the torsion bar turn?

Thanks! I am new here and have been enjoying all the info and pics! :D

I am having one installed tomorrow, 2'' kit.I don't think the newer trucks have any adjustment other than a leveling kit. I"ll let you know how it goes.....

Level Options....Sell Me!

Never a guarantee when changing front end geometry... But 2" is minor! Ide be willing to go as far to say it wouldnt cause any failures, but could possibly help a failing part to fail faster... Dnt forget that alignment!

I went with RC keys for my leveling job. I'm not sure just twisting the torsion bar wouldn't achieve the same results though. Another option, albeit much more expensive is to get leveling shocks from Rancho. They have 2 models of adjustable shocks, one more for leveling, the other is a lift ability built in to the shock, using a coil-over shock design. But cost aside, if this is something you'll have for 10 years+, it could be an all-in-one solution to replace shocks from 2007, and get a level/lift you want. Plus there is a rebate available for all rancho shocks, basically buy 3 get the 4th free. But you pay for all, then get a rebate debit card mailed to you.

On my old truck I just cranked the torsion bars up to level it out. It does make the ride a little rough though.
