Leveling Kit in 11' silverado

Postby CountryBoy12 [OP] » Sep 26 2011, 10:18am

Im looking to put a leveling kit in a 2011 chevrolet silverado LT 1500 and I was wondering if it effects the stabiltrac in the truck suspension? Also does it void the factory warranty?

I'd have to say, with about 99.9% degree of certainty...no & no. The leveling kit that many of us have used is the Rough Country 2" leveling kit. It is a 1" composite plastic block that fits in just at the bottom of where your shock connects to the lower control arm. The kit takes approximately 1.5 to 3 hours to install by yourself, and much faster if you have a helper.

You can check the threads about people in the community that have used 'it' and a variety of others. Here's mine just to get you started:

RC 2"

RC 2" Ordered, received, ON!

And another for a 3.5", if your in the mood to spend a bit more money (dpaul did quite a bit of telling about his lift with lots of pics. It is a very good thread):

RC 3.5 (4" for all practical purposes)

3.5" RC lift update with mileage

Mind you, these are both Z71s, so height is of the essence. I did do a 3" lift on a 2WD years ago and never regretted it!

Anyone else want to chime in? I don't see how this could void a warranty; but I never asked.

I used the 2" RC leveling kit and they are 295/65r18's GY DuraTrac. They barely fit under there and actually rub a bit. I am waiting on the funds to get an additional 3" body, then some 18 x 10 wheels.
