There are the 2 different forms of kits that i see. the coil spacer, and the one that goes on the bottom of the shock? which type of these would you prefer? i havent ever leveled a vehicle but i used a rought country lift before and had a decent expierence with it. but the one they off for 75 dollars on ebay. please advise

I am curious as well. I have tried to search this site, but I don't have any luck with the search function.

I have the Rough Country kit on my truck, installation was a breeze, about 1 1/2 hrs worth of work, gave $60 for the parts, got them locally at a off road shop. Check around, sometimes you can find better deals than E-Bay. As far as the other style goes, my step-son has installed both styles, and he likes the Rough Country style better, for ease of installation. Inclosed is a pic of my truck from the side after it was leveled out.

I used the ReadyLift 2.25 leveling kit. It was the coil-spacer type. It was more expensive (for some reason) it was $200 from AutoAnything.com. Either way, I'm happy with it.

alright thanks ya'll im running 285x65 r 18's right now and they look good but it sits 2 inch's low in the front. and definetly in need of a leveling kit. seems like its easier to put on the one that goes on the bottom of the shock more than the one above the coil spring. also just wondering should i replace my shocks at the same time i have 50 thousand miles on the vehicle

I just ordered a set of leveling keys from Rough Country, cost $99. Should be on my door Monday.

As for the shocks, if you can afford it, replace them. RC sellls a full kit with shocks, front keys, and rear blocks for $199 I believe. I already replaced my stock shocks after 80k with a set of Rancho RS5000's..so far, I love them Ride control is where I notice the biggest difference. I know the keys will stiffen the ride a bit, but I'm okay with that, as I've heard it's fairly unnoticeable unless you're looking for it. I see it as this: I drive a truck, and I'm not expecting it to feel like Mercedes or BMW.. But it can handle driving over either of them, and that's what really counts!

I got mine from SSm Offroad, and couldn't be happier! $79.99 and it looks amazing! I looked at a Rough Country kit locally, but they were made of plastic (or compressed polymer or whatever you want to call it) and I'm not a fan of that. CCM Offroad:

Hmmm.. On the info page for the keys I ordered from RC, it says they are Forged for strength. So I don't know about them being made from anything other than metal, unless there's some speacial plastic that can be called forged.... I hope their not plastic, especially not for an exra $20.
