Love bug season in southeast, clear plastidip?

Postby Machster69 [OP] » Aug 20 2012, 2:30am

This is for people in the Southeast that deal with these outbreaks of Plecia Nearctica aka love bugs! Whats your thoughts on using plastidip to spray the front ends of the trucks(clear?) and then i could just peel it off every 10 days or so while these love bugs are bad? Because it was equivalent to a mild rain storm this afternoon with all the bugs hitting the truck. Being that they are so acidic, the paint will suffer less i wash the truck everyday... So this idea crossed my mind

This is interesting. I have a Silverado LTZ with the painted front bar. My neighbor has one also, and the whole bar is rusted from rock chips. I have to touch up 3 or 4 per month myself. Do you think that covering the bar would help to protect it?

Did you jus troll my thread? Stealer...

Rusted? Umm no, you need to sand that, prime it, paint it... Then you could apply plastidip thick enough to help. Though i doubt it is much helps in rock chips...

Back to love bugs....
