Question about Suspension lift kit

Question about Suspension lift kit

Postby hockeycns [OP] » Feb 02 2012, 8:58pm

Hey guys I have question about a suspension lift kit

First off I'll say that I have a 2001 Silverado 1500 4x4 5.3L extended cab short bed

I was wondering if someone could make a list for me of everything you need to do a 6" lift on a truck like mine. I do not want to buy a couple thousand dollar lift kit. I want to piece one together. If someone could tell me all of the parts i need to collect.

Please do not say save up money and buy the whole kit.

Thanks a lot and I appreciate any answers.

you could do a 4" spindle with a 2" spacer. but you would also need a block for the rear. i dont know if you'd want the back to sit a little lower or sit level, so the size of the block you would need would depend on how you want the truck to sit when its all said and done. or instead of the block you could do a lift shackle.

I already have a torsion keys cranked and a 2" block in the rear but I could do a 4" spindle with the 2" space and then replace the 2" block with a 5" block. Do you think you could show me links to the spindle and spacer. and also would I need anything else besides...

2X 5" Block with the U-bolt
2X 4" Spindles
2X 2" Spacer

Would I need new shocks, other parts, etc?

Thanks alot!
