RC 3.5" lift pic request.

Postby tmurph01 [OP] » Jul 21 2011, 1:45pm

I am really leaning towards doing the RC 3.5" lift on my 2009 Z71 Crew Cab. I would like some input from those of you who have this as well as any pics you could provide. I am also curios as to the size tires you are running and if there is any rubbing or clearance issues. Thanks guys!

If you go to ([url]http://www.roughcountry.com/chevy_4wd_leveling_kit.html) they will have all the info you need, including pics. I was looking into getting a 3.5 RC, but they said it dont fit on automatic transmissons.

tmurph01:

Here is a link to all of the questions you may have regarding the 3.5" lift... if you have additional one's, just ask.

3.5" RC lift update with mileage

J.E.V.361: I have NO idea where you would have got that information from... but it is absolutely incorrect. It will ONLY fit on the newer 1500's with automatic transmission... GM won't give us a manual anymore for my truck. I wish they would!! So J.E.V.361, if you still want an inexpensive lift, the RC 3.5" is the ticket!

Thanks for the corection dpaul, I was absolutly wrong. I was looking at a 3'' body lift kits for an 07 1500 and under the tech notes, thats where I read that. Sorry tmurph01 there is no pics that I can see of there also.

dpaul: Your truck looks nice with the lift.

Thanks guys. I have been all over RC's website as well as the web. I was just hoping someone would have had some pics of the kit on a crew cab...

Will more than likely do this since I will be needing new tires in a few months anyways ;-)

I just recently put this lift on my g/f's truck. I am NOT impressed.
Just wanted to get some other opinions and maybe someone can point out something I am missing, if I am....

Well everything KINDA fits good...only complaint is there is a humming in the front diff now since the lift has been installed, all I can see is that the front diff is touching the rack near the fluid fill plug due to the diff lowering brackets. And I figure it's just the normal front diff noise echoing through the frame and stuff now....but isn't the point of diff brackets to relocate your diff not to jam it up into another component?

Anyone else have this same thing happen? If so what did u do about it I'd like to get some feed back before I call RC losing my shit lol

I dropped the front diff and ground it down a bit where it was contacting the rack. No noises since.

Gmctruckguy -
I took a couple of pics and noticed the front diff touching the rack in 2 spots was yours that way ?
You wouldn't happen to have any pics of yours ? I will put my pics up tonight after work if you wanted to have a look.
And thanx I appreciate the help/advice.

I called rough country about the diff touching the rack and they said they haven't had any complaints, they wanted me to take pics to send them. Sent them last night and as of right now no response. I won't have a problem modifying the diff to make it work, but you shouldn't have to, especially since it's sposed to be a direct fit no modding required lift, it's only for my g/f's truck not like we're serious off roaders.
