Rough Country 7.5" Lift Kit

Postby USMC ChevyZ82 [OP] » Aug 03 2010, 5:54pm

I am looking at putting the 7.5" Rough Country Suspension lift on my truck. Does anyone have any expierence with this lift kit or any knowledge of this lift. From what i am reading it is recommended for use with 35" tires but i want to put 37's on my truck. Will i need to put a body lift on my truck as well or is there any better lifts to help raise my truck enough to fit the 37's?

Rough Country makes a great lift kit! I had one on my last pick up, never had any problems. They recommend those tire sizes to make sure it clears the fender wells without any rubbing (both on and off road). If you are planning on wheeling the truck at all, and really want to put 37"s on it, I would recommend the 3" Body lift. It will be a rock solid combination. I did the same thing on my last pickup (actually ran 38"s), without any issues. Just make sure you gear down the differentials (if you dont, you'll grenade your tranny about 30000 miles after the lift). The torque converter, bands, and clutches will be trashed. I would recommend at least 4:56 gears.

Just FYI, I live in jacksonville also. Shoot me a PM (private message) if you ever need any specific help with anything. I'd be more than happy meet up... nothing a six pack and some tools cant figure out.

Hey, new to this site. Have an 08 silverado 1500 reg cab long bed. Looking at the RCX 7.5 lift and wanted to know some opinions on it. And also looking at either 35s or 37 Nitto Mud Graplers. I have a three inch leveling kit on it now and 33x12.50x18 MTZs that are pretty worn down and its time to step up.
