Yes you would have to remove your current leveling kit. There is a really good write up that Bilstein put out that explains the advantages of their kit over traditional leveling kits. It is pretty easy to find by doing a search for Bilstein 5100 on this site. Basically the Bilstein kit puts less stain on the ball joints. I highly recommend it.

Installed my 5100's on Wednesday. Noticed a hell of a squeak this morning on my way to work. I got home and jumped on here. Within 15 minutes I found the problem and solution. Thanks guys!

What was the problem and what was the solution. I re-tightened the top bolt, and the dam thing is still squeaking. It's annoying the hell out of me. Please help! lol

Did you torque it down or just tighten?

The nut the goes on the top of the strut itself had about a quarter inch between it and where it needed to be. Looked fine on jacks, but once I put the truck hack on the ground it raised the whole strut up. I tightened them down with a 15mm wrench for the bolt and 1/4 inch wrench to hold the strut. I didn't torque them Dow., but I got them as tight as possible. You have limited access to them, but it's all tight and the squeak is gone.
