Torsion Bars/Keys? Rims?

Postby taphillips2 [OP] » Feb 16 2011, 7:54am

Do the 2011 Chevy 1500 LT's have torsion bars or keys, heard them called both? And I had someone tell me that you cannot put smaller than a 17" rim on my truck. Is that correct?, or can I put a 16" rim on it?

The 2011 trucks do not have a torsion suspension. As far as smaller wheels, I am not sure. Most of the guys here are looking to go bigger. What have you heard, as far as concerns about smaller wheels?

I heard that the break rotors were to big to use smaller than a 17". Ive got a set of 20" rockstars but i wanted a smaller set to run back and forth to work on for the gas mileage

The new 1500s have pucks or whatever they call em. You can still get a leveling kit for them. How often do you plan on swapping your wheels/tires out?

Your mileage will be fine if you just keep the stock set on it and run em to the ground. Don't hammer the dogshit out of it everywhere you go and it should do fine.
