ATV season is here!

Postby Rambodog [OP] » May 02 2017, 5:01pm

Thought I would use this as an excuse to share some pics. Everyone likes pics. My wife and I, along with a good friend headed off to camp this past weekend to go on our first ride of the season. A few pics before we left town and ate lunch. My buddy leaves his ATV at camp, but we trailer ours because we travel all over to ride. New trailer is much better than the old too. We put on 65 miles over the weekend ATVing.

I've been trying to enjoy my new to me Rzr as much as I can when I'm not working. I'm lucky to have access to about 10k acres worth of trails within 20mins from my house. Also can hit up Brown Mountain OHV park. ImageImageImage

I had my first major quad accident at uwhartie when I was 12. My mother wasn't too pleased when my father brought me home after that weekend, and we were more concerned with the condition of my Mojave...

But since then I learned four wheels are two to many :)

Im on a never ending quest to gather up enough pop cans so I can buy a nice extended cab or crew cab, so I don't have to hide my head when im driving this strippy standard cab of mine. So people don't have to feel sorry for me.

I haven't been to Uwharrie in years. Rode Brown Mountain 2 weekends ago, just about the time we got to the top of the mountain a monsoon started.

I ride the new Osceola, NY trail from my camp (9 miles) that connects to the Oswego, NY trail system which has hundreds of miles of trails. I have access to a rod and gun club's property that gets me to the top of Tug Hill, NY AKA Flat Rock. All are member only trails and so vast so it's not crowded at all. Hundreds of miles of trail that double in many areas as snowmobile trails so they are banked turns in many places. So much fun. I was doing all the "park loops" within a day trip, but the new access trail is a game changer for me. The wife and I am new to the whole thing, but are having a blast ATVing and snowmobiling. My son is a 2 wheel believer too. We tried out some communicators and it makes the experience so much better to just freely talk. They work well rider to passenger. No more yelling or even talking loud. Stayed charged riding all day. (5 hrs) https://nastore.cardosystems.com/scala- ... -p226.aspx
Some of last weekends shenanigans.

My camp in the last snow storm of the season. Freaking buried us bad. 6 feet in 2 days total. This was day 1. Soon the property owner is gonna increase the lot rent a bit, but concrete pads are going in and pull under roofs are being built to park under. We are excited about that. I have a pitched metal roof built on top, but will no longer have to move snow around. New shower and toilet facilities 50 feet from me. I got in early to a up and coming awesome campground. Restaurant and bar on property along with 2 concert areas. Marshall Tucker and Charlie Daniels were there not too long ago. The property owner helped fix CD's tour bus out of Syracuse once and they befriended so he comes to the camp every so often. :D
Some other pics of toys.

Sadly last season was a bust till the last month of winter it just kept up day after day and never really stopped for long which made for about 3 weekends of fun. Other years you can easily get snowed in so bad you gotta crawl out the window if caught off guard and not keeping up with the snow fall. Not I, but seen it happen lol. Most seasons average 200 inches on the Tug Hill region and 170 inches of snow and 50 inches of rain at camp. Rarely a dusty ride is a bonus and on the rare dusty day, we head for the county trails where they spray them down in bad areas.
