Postby willee87 [OP] » Mar 10 2012, 4:12pm

Some brake controllers require you to "calibrate" them before use. Take a look in your instruction manual, if that's not the issue your best bet is to hook a meter up at you trailer plug & start chasing wires.

i read some of the blogs about having to hook up wires under the hood, not sure if my plain jane has everything i need. i added a plug and play 7blade+4 flat RV plug to the back everything there was straight forward.

Are you getting power & ground everywhere you should? As stated in some previous posts, there are wires under the hood that need to be connected and/or fused before you'll have power back to your plug.

Thanks to all replies, I took it to a local trailerhitch installer and found my truck only had a partial trailering harness, it was missing two wires. cheap fix.
