koolz71 wrote:what you need is a jumper cable like the one i am attaching a picture of..basically is a plug and play..it plugs into a harness under the dash then you have to install a electronic brake controller and wire it up. Once this is done your good to go. Sometimes it may be under the dash, in the glove box, hidden along the frame rail or if you have the bucket seats it could be underneath the cup holders. If you have any more questions we will be more than willing to help u out

My plug was in my glove box when I bought my truck. My one buddy found his under his back seat.

A 2006 truck did not come with a electric brake controller. You have to buy one and install it.

I just had one installed on my 2010 and the wires were above the steering column taped to the wire harness, there is no plug, just a wire pigtail you have to solder in.

It only took them a hour to install a Tekonsha Prodigy on my truck last week.

I'm going to follow this up when I return home in June. I did all the steps mentioned above. Installed pigtail, ensured power to electric control unit, and have checked on a multi-meter that signal voltage is coming out of the unit when the brake is depressed.

However, there is still no signal seen at the 7-pin connector. (light blue wire I beleive)

BTW, I have the Z85 tow/suspension package.
Marine because.

This would be a great topic for a HOW TO
I have a 07.5 Silv NBS and the owner b4 me butchered the wiring under the dash to put in his electric brake controller.
Then he took it out when he traded in. I'd like to clean it up and do it right.
