First Real Towing Test

Postby StarsnBars [OP] » Sep 12 2011, 7:00pm

Hey all, been awhile since I've been on. Been pretty busy trying to enjoy life. :D Well we bought a new 2012 Flagstaff 30ft. V-Lite . Awsome rig. It hefts in around 6900lbs plus gear around 7200lb. Was kinda leary about my 11 Silverado 1500 pulling it. Tow package is the bomb. The truck pulls like a champ. I air bagged the rear to help keep it level with the 2 inch level kit. Around 25psi in the bags and it sits great. Thanks Jon. ;) Took the trailer out last week for its first trip. I was surprised how my Chevy pulls. Chevy is doin something right. Well, just wanted to show off alittle and thank the peeps who answered some of my questions in here. Heres a few pics to share. See ya,,,

What type of air bags are you running? How much were they? Do they void any warranties?

Just bought a 2011 WT and plan to add a gooseneck hitch and some 'bags.

Thanks!

Here is the bags I put on. http://www.streetsideauto.com/p/firesto ... QAodO1WuPw. Install took me around 1 hour. One small air leak on a uneven cut in air line. Redid it ,and no problems. I left them aired down to around 8psi on the way home and could really feel the difference in the truck towing. They really help the overall ride and handling when there aired up to 20 or 30psi. Not many hills in cornland but the few I hit pulled down speed alittle. Not bad though. We are pulling about 120 miles out this Sunday for a week vacation. Should be a better test. Pretty much short trippers when we go camping. I'll try to post up some more pics of the bags soon. See ya,,,

Awesome! Very reasonable price and I like the no drilling required. Thanks!

Also, what brand of bug deflector do you have? It looks great.
