The plow made my truck look so good, I think I'll keep it on all year round .
Here's what you see if you're pile of snow, and happen to be in the way !

Most of the competition utilizes a trip-edge design on their plows, meaning that the first 4" or so of the plow is on a set of springs, so that when you hit an obstacle, the edge of the plow trips forward, saving wear and tear on the plow and truck. However, this only allows for smaller obstacles, leaving the risk of severely damaging the plow and truck if you hit something larger than the trip edge can handle. BOSS, on the other hand, uses a full moldboard trip design, meaning that the entire plow will trip forward. This means that you can hit just about anything, and the combination of trip springs and relief valves in the hydraulics will absorb all of the impact. This feature works in any of the infinite positions of the V-plow. I've seen and felt it in action a few times (darn you, manhole cover :x !), and it works to perfection. Here's a killer video, demonstrating BOSS's superiority in this area:

Glad you like your plow. I haven't even gotten to plow yet up in Vermont. Which is really weird, It's kinda upsetting seeing how I was thinking I would have made some extra $$$ buy now :(

I hear ya, man. It's only snowed twice here... supposedly this was going to be another record year, but the storm track is stuck to the south.

The trucks we use are 3\4 tons, which are built a lot stronger than the 1\2 tons. For my truck, I did do some modifications before I started plowing. I emptied all the fluids (in the front and rear diffs, transfer case, engine oil, and transmission) and replaced them with AMSOIL products. AMSOIL is a synthetic oil maker, and their oils are supposed to be the best you can buy. I also added some helper springs to the front suspension, to help keep the front end level when the plow is on. That's all I've done to prepare for plowing.

I've put in about 20 hours of plowing so far this year, and my initial findings are very promising- the truck doesn't seem to mind plowing at all. Plus, most of the plow trucks that are used around here are GM trucks, so I know I picked the right truck :D!
