I bought my Silverado to pull my 2012 Keystone Montana 3750fl. Weighs in at about 12,500. No problem with this truck.

Centurion, you read my mind when you posted about pulling a fiver with a 6.0. I have a 2006 Salem 32SRV toy hauler that weighs less than 11,000 with what we put into it (about 14k with all tanks full, garage full of crap, all closets full, etc, which we'll never get close to). I was thinking about getting a new Sierra 2500 with the 6.6, but I know the 6.0 is much better on maintenance costs, and is nearly bulletproof. I think you just saved me $8,000 on my next truck.

I'm sure I'm busting 5000 but the 5.3 Vortec handles it well in the foothills around Danville, VA. Will post pics when I get rotate home in June.

Will also post a "How To" thread on building your own brake bleeder for less than $50 when I get back.

UH OH! sounds like a VIR guy to me! I live in Bedford VA between lynchburg and ROA

2005 K-Z 28' 285RL 5th. Just over 10k loaded up. My 2011 6.0 pulled it through the mountains with no problems. Would like to add some airbags to help with some of the bouncing. Missouri roads are slightly better than gravel at the best of times.

I pull a tandem axle enclosed v nose trailer. Its roughly 5500lbs loaded full of gear, tools, and machines. I throw it behind my 2010 and she pulls like a dream. You can make that 6.0 scream if you need to climb. They really are bulletproof. I wouldnt doubt my truck at all with putting things behind it. I towed a 27ft fountain bowride to Lake of the Ozarks and it handles the hills great. I cant remember how much the boat weighed by my uncle couldnt believe how it pulled compaired to his 2010 mega cab with a hemi... lol You should be in a great seat with yours so have fun man.

Towing a 2009 Jayco Octane Toy Hauler 32' about 8000 pounds but maxes out around 12,000 loaded W/ 2 ATVs and everything else including the built in 4000 watt Cummins Onan generator with 21 gallon fuel tank and 110 gallons of fresh water. And pulls great.

Ok, so we are just about done our Spring season, and I've towed the package deal with nearly the limit of weight in the trailer, to #12k.... and also have an extra #480 in the bed of water. To top that off in the bed, I have a 5000Watt generator, and 3 bales of hay (#40 each).

There's almost no travel left in the bed (need air springs or timbrens yet - coming this summer)... but other than that, we've put 3000+ miles towing that package around since Feb. It'll dump all the way down to 2nd gear and 5000rpm to keep up 55 going up 5-6% grade, but it'll do it. If you time it right, you can keep it rolling 65mph plus.

I've been getting averages of 7.9mpg towing like that though. I've managed 16mpg empty flat, so figure 10-11mpg if it were flat towing that much.

5000 RPM at 55 MPH? That's gotta sound awesome... time for a custom exhaust kit :D! FYI- if you're working your truck that hard, a little extra insurance would be to switch all the fluids to AMSOIL ;).
