No voltage on one turn signal

Trailer Plug Problem on Truck

Postby bburch [OP] » Dec 30 2011, 8:40pm

I have a factory installed 7-pin plug which I converted to 4 pole flat. I don't use it as much as I used to, but I've never had any trouble until now. I installed an aftermarket 5 function light bar (under the tailgate) and I can't get voltage to the factory plug for the left brake/turn wire. The problem isn't in the plug itself, but in the wire coming to the plug. Everything is intact and no damage to the harness. I decided to just splice into the brake light itself, but I can't get the turn and brake lights to work, it's either turn signal or brake lights.

Any ideas?

Check the fuses for the trailer lights in the fuse box under the hood.

the plug at the hitch is very notorious for corrosion and burn-up take it apart and clean it or replace as nessicary depending on how much you use it

not just the part you see but the connections into the 7 way
